About SafeSteps for Girls
SafeSteps for Girls is a secondary school self defence and empowerment program designed specifically for teenage girls. The program is delivered onsite at schools across Melbourne and Victoria, supporting student wellbeing through practical, age-appropriate personal safety education.

Led by Experience. Delivered with Care.
SafeSteps for Girls is led by Caroline Massimino, a highly experienced 5th Dan Black Belt martial arts instructor and educator with over 20 years of experience working with young people.
Caroline is the co-founder of one of Australia’s premier Taekwondo schools, Team Carlo Taekwondo, and has operated multiple training centres across Melbourne. She is a former State and National Taekwondo Champion and has extensive experience delivering structured, age-appropriate self defence programs within school environments.

Her approach is grounded in one principle: when girls understand how to recognise risk, set boundaries and respond effectively, confidence grows naturally.

As both an educator and parent of teenagers, Caroline understands the real-world challenges girls face today. SafeSteps for Girls was created to provide practical, realistic and confidence-building skills in a safe and supportive school setting.
